Premier League make announcement about late drama in Leeds draw vs Bournemouth
Premier League officials have explained a key incident that happened late in Leeds United’s game against Bournemouth.
Bournemouth looked set to take all three points, with winger Rayan putting the Cherries 2-1 up in the 85th minute.
It was heartbreak for Leeds at the time, who had worked tremendously hard throughout the game until that point.
Devastation looked to have been compounded when Evanilson found the back of the net to make it 3-1, with the Vitality Stadium going raucous.
However, after a VAR check for offside, the goal was chalked off, with Leeds securing a draw with a 97th-minute goal just minutes later to end the game at 2-2. Now, Premier League officials have explained the offside against Evanilson.

What have the Premier League said about the late drama in Leeds’ draw vs Bournemouth?
The end of Leeds’ game against Bournemouth could have gone numerous ways. At one point, the Cherries looked to have a 2-1 win, then thought they confirmed three points, making it 3-1.
However, ultimately it was Sean Longstaff who had the final say on the outcome of the match, striking in the dying moments to tie the game at 2-2.

However, while Bournemouth may feel aggrieved by decisions against Leeds, there will surely be no complaints about Evanilson’s offside strike.
The Brazilian was clearly offside, with Michael Salisbury having no choice but to rule it out after a review.
The Premier League Match Centre account on X said, “VAR checked the referee’s call of goal – and established that Evanilson was in an offside position and recommended that the goal was disallowed.”
Leeds get perfect ending ahead of Wembley
While a win would have been ideal for the Whites, scoring a late equaliser away from home, with a trip to Wembley on the way, was ultimately the perfect way to end the game against Bournemouth.
Instead of preparing for the clash against Chelsea off the back of a defeat, the LS11 outfit now head into the match with a positive vibe.
Supporters were jubilant when Longstaff netted, and the positivity of hitting that 40-point total will please Daniel Farke.
The limbs down on the south coast will stick in many fans’ minds for a while, but this weekend has the chance to provide memories that can last for years to come.
