Anton Stach’s Leeds United brilliance clear, only Bruno Fernandes beats him in key Premier League metric
Anton Stach of Leeds United ranks up there with the Premier League’s best for a key attacking metric.
The German midfielder has proven an inspired signing for the Elland Road side, showing his brilliance on both sides of the ball.
The £17million fee paid to Hoffenheim looks like an absolute bargain at the moment, as he has been the heartbeat of Daniel Farke‘s team.
He scored a stunning opener in the 3-1 win over Burnley, and was a key asset as the Whites brushed the already relegated team aside on 1 May.
Now, a new reveal has shed a light on how excellent Stach has really been for Leeds.

What metric does Leeds man Stach excel at?
Stach has been crucial for Leeds going forward, and his strike against the Clarets was just the latest example.
He has created the joint-second most chances in the Premier League this season, per TNT Sports, with a total of 61.
That figure ranks alongside Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai and Arsenal’s Declan Rice, only Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes’ 114 can topple that.
Why Leeds need to use Stach differently next season
Leeds needs to build the side around Stach next season, and allow his creative influence to have even more say on the side.
He should feature in a more advanced role, with less emphasis on defensive work, with that left to the likes of Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka, and Sean Longstaff being a backup option when he needs a rest.
| Leeds’ midfield options | PL Appearances |
| Ao Tanaka | 25 |
| Ethan Ampadu | 32 |
| Anton Stach | 27 |
| Sean Longstaff | 21 |
| Ilia Gruev | 23 |
If he is given a more prominent space in the side, then there is every chance that he can rival Fernandes’ numbers and make himself regarded as a truly class creator in the top-flight.
To be among the likes of Szoboszlai and Rice is no mean feat, as they are two of the most elite midfielders in the division, while Fernandes plays further forward so that explains why he is so far clear of the others.
Farke has to give Stach the keys to make his impact on the LS11 team next season, and hopefully he can get himself the recognition that he deserves, such as getting into the Germany team and help the Whites to rise up the league.
