Leeds United put Premier League to shame as Anton Stach stands out vs Burnley

Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach is one of the signings of the season after scoring against Burnley on Friday.

That’s what Jamie Redknapp believes as he lauded the Germany international for his strike at Elland Road on 1 May, with Daniel Farke’s team securing three crucial points.

Apart from the former Hoffenheim star, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin also got on the scoresheet for the Whites in the 3-1 victory.

In a summer that saw Liverpool spend multi-millions on Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, the West Yorkshire outfit have arguably done better business by signing the 27-year-old.

Stach has been instrumental to Farke and the Peacocks are now closer than ever to securing their status in the English top flight this season.

Jamie Redknapp gets Anton Stach assessment right in Leeds United win vs Burnley

Speaking on Sky Sports during the break, Redknapp said, “Stach, £17m, one of the signings of the summer. Two good feet. We’ve seen the full repertoire tonight. And it was a really good goal.”

Even before the Burnley game, Leeds fans had already seen enough of Stach to determine that he had been one of the best buys from last summer.

The Elland Road faithful urge the midfielder to shoot from distance at every opportunity and they will be glad he listened to them in the 3-1 victory.

Stach’s record in Leeds’ win against Burnley

When considering the impact the German star has had at the Whites, it’s safe to argue that 49ers Enterprises have put some of the other Premier League clubs to shame for spending significantly more money on players who haven’t had much influence this season.

Apart from scoring a magnificent goal, the midfielder won six duels, with a 100 per cent success rate, as per Sofascore.

Anton Stach game in numbers vs Burnley

Stach was a constant threat up top for Leeds against Burnley, recording an xG of 0.28, taking five shots in total, two of which were blocked.

The Germany international also played three key passes in the game as the Clarets were unable to contain him for most of the fixture.

In Stach’s 72 minutes on the pitch, he had 48 touches, completed one successful dribble, had three progressive carries and was fouled twice.

Farke will undoubtedly be delighted to have the former Hoffenheim star in his ranks and it’s great to see him punch above his weight in the Premier League.
