Leeds United have stepped on the accelerator with their summer transfer business, with Santiago Bueno of Wolves their latest target.

Many believe the Whites are already safe in the Premier League, but three points against Burnley on Friday could make sure of it.

Burnley were relegated alongside Wolves in their last outing, with Leeds and others already looking to take advantage of that, if they can.

Daniel Farke and the 49ers are already said to have made their approach to sign Bueno, who has plenty of suitors as we approach the end of the season.

Leeds are looking to get their business underway very soon, it seems.

Leeds United make their move for Santiago Bueno

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Leeds had approached Wolves regarding Bueno.

Now, more news has come to light, only a matter of days since the Old Gold travelled to Elland Road and were smashed 3-0 to confirm their relegation.

AS in Spain has reported that Bueno could be worth up to £21.6million, something which could increase if he performs well with Uruguay under Marcelo Bielsa at the 2026 World Cup.

It is added that Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Bournemouth, and Brentford are also in the race.

Santiago Bueno transfer full of surprises

Not only would Wolves benefit from this transfer, but Girona could also be in line for a windfall.

Bueno is said to be in his football prime after turning 27, but he would need to prove that in his next move after tasting Premier League relegation.

Girona have a 20 per cent sell-on clause in any future deal, with AS saying any lucrative offer to Wolves will also be a “summer surprise” for the La Liga side.

It is predicted that it could bank them up to £2.1million, which isn’t to be sniffed at.

Leeds are also still in the market for Union Berlin defender Danilho Doekhi and Sporting CP midfielder Hidemasa Morita, too, with both out of contract in June.

Should Bueno join in a triple move, it could be a huge start to the summer for the Whites.
