More details have emerged on the injury sustained by Leeds United attacking midfielder Jean-Matteo Bahoya on France Under-21s duty.

Bahoya limped off the field in France U21s' win over Luxembourg on Saturday evening.

The 21-year-old landed awkwardly on his right ankle in the 29th minute of the match at Stade du Moustoir in Lorient.

He tried to walk it off but lasted just six more minutes before having to be substituted off.

It was disappointing in more ways than one for Bahoya, having been recalled to the starting XI by Gerald Baticle.

Baticle was asked by reporters about the injury after the game.

What is latest on Jean-Matteo Bahoya injury?

Details on the issue have been pretty limited, other than RMC reporting via their live blog that Bahoya "seemed okay" as he made way for France.

And head coach Baticle could not really shed too much more light, other than to confirm the Eintracht Frankfurt loanee is to undergo tests.

L'Equipe report Baticle as saying: "I can't tell you exactly what the injury is; there will be further tests, but it's his ankle.

It is expected Bahoya will sit out Tuesday's clash with Switzerland at the minimum, but it is unclear if he will miss any games for Leeds.

Which Leeds games is Bahoya at risk of missing - if any?

Bahoya has played just one minute for Leeds since arriving on an initial loan at the end of the summer transfer window.

That came as a late substitute in the draw against Crystal Palace in the Whites' most recent match.

Daniel Farke has been careful to slowly integrate Bahoya into the side - maybe a little too slow, in the view of many.

But that is all with the long term in mind, and it is not as though Leeds have been underperforming without him involved.

Still, a possible layoff for Bahoya is bad news for Farke and Leeds.

The Whites travel to Arsenal on their return to action in six days' time, before then hosting Manchester United on 18 October.

Away trips to Sunderland and Bournemouth conclude October for Leeds, but let's hope the summer signing does not miss any of those games.
