What we know so far after cruel Jean-Matteo Bahoya injury blow away from Leeds United
Leeds United will be sweating over the fitness of Jean-Matteo Bahoya after the winger sustained an injury on international duty.
Bahoya was brought into France Under-21s' starting line-up for Saturday's 3-2 win over Luxembourg.
The 21-year-old had some positive early moments at Stade du Moustoir in Lorient, but he did not last long.
Just 35 minutes were on the clock when Bahoya hobbled off injured.
It could be a real blow for Daniel Farke, having tried his best to slowly ease the summer signing into the side.
On the back of the cruel setback on Bahoya at a time when he desperately needs some momentum, here is everything we know so far.
What injury did Jean-Matteo Bahoya sustain?
Bahoya impressed for France U21s in their win over Estonia on Tuesday evening.
That earned him a place in Gerald Baticle's starting line-up to face Luxembourg.
After playing just one minute at club level this season, Farke would have been watching events closely from afar.
Rather than Bahoya getting an hour or so under his belt, he did not last until the end of the first half.
RMC Sport reported in their live match blog that the Eintracht Frankfurt loanee "twisted his right ankle after landing awkwardly".
Bahoya was said to "be in pain on the ground" as France's medical staff attended to him.
While the youngster initially tried to play on, he limped off six minutes later as the injury proved too much.
However, in some slightly more positive news, the last update was that Bahoya "seems okay" but the management "do not want to take any risks".
A separate report from Bulinews states that Bahoya will now likely sit out the match with Switzerland on Tuesday.
Bahoya set for shortened Leeds summer in 2027
Leeds signed Bahoya from Frankfurt on an initial loan at the end of the summer transfer window, with an obligation to buy next year.
The Frenchman will be in West Yorkshire beyond this season, then, so Leeds fans will get to see far more of him than they have so far.
France's hard-fought win over Luxembourg ensures they have now qualified for the U21 Euros next summer.
Assuming Bahoya is not part of the senior squad by then, he will now be heading to that tournament.
It runs until early July, with France always expected to go all the way, so Bahoya will likely be late returning to pre-season for Leeds.
That is a problem for then. Right now, getting Bahoya back to fitness is all that matters.
