French media reacts as Leeds ace Jean-Matteo Bahoya causes 'chaos' in fiery France U21s win

Jean-Matteo Bahoya came off the bench to score for France's Under-21s in their win over Estonia on Tuesday.

Leeds United signed Bahoya, 21, on transfer deadline day in September, with the forward joining the Yorkshire giants on an initial loan from Frankfurt.

Leeds have the option to sign Bahoya permanently next summer, but the left-winger has barely a kicked a ball for the Whites since making the move.

He made his United debut in the final game before the international break against Crystal Palace last week, coming off the bench as a late substitute.

In that 0-0 draw, Bahoya only got four touches of the ball, so Leeds fans didn't really get a handle on how good of a signing he'll be for them in the long run.

However, he made much more of an impact in his latest appearance as a substitute.

What happened in Jean-Matteo Bahoya's latest France U21s display

Ethan Mbappe was forced off with an injury in the 12th minute, meaning that Bahoya was able to come off the bench and play almost an entire game in U21 European Championships qualifying.

He scored his goal - his third in total for France's U21s - in the 68th minute to round off a victory that should've been a lot bigger due to Estonia being reduced to 10 men in the 28th minute.

After the game, French news outlet football.fr raved about the impact that Bahoya had, saying that the Leeds forward "shone" throughout his appearance, while Foot Mercato hailed his "dangerous" attacking play and "well-placed shot" that found the net.

Sport 365 said that the Leeds man was "very lively" after his early introduction to the game and "perfectly" found the bottom corner with his shot.

He and Steve Ngoura were said to have caused "havoc" down the right-hand side of France's attack.

What does this mean for Leeds?

It's definitely good to see Bahoya getting on so well with France's U21s.

However, it can't be forgotten that his dominant display was against an Estonia U21s side that played with 10 men for the majority of the match.

You would have expected a crushing victory for the French, but it was nowhere near that, with Bahoya also wasting other opportunities to score.

Still, the Frankfurt loanee is clearly back to full fitness and there's a good chance he'll get a lot more game time for Leeds once the international break is over and he's back in West Yorkshire.
