Daniel Farke shares Harry Wilson injury update ahead of Arsenal vs Leeds United as teammate out
Daniel Farke has shared an update on Harry Wilson's availability for Leeds United's clash with Arsenal.
The Whites travel to the Emirates Stadium on 10 October, looking to end a 23-year hoodoo.
They have not won on the road against Mikel Arteta's side since May 2003 when they secured a 3-2 win at Highbury.
The last time the sides met in North London was August 2025, when the Gunners dismantled Farke's side with a 5-0 scoreline.
However, the Elland Road outfit have added the likes of Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic and James Trafford since that humbling result.
The latest injury update will provide hope for LS11 supporters ahead of the trip.
What did Daniel Farke say about Leeds injury situations before Arsenal clash?
Leeds' chances of securing an unlikely three points probably depend on who they have available on the day.
Wilson with a quad issue and Jean-Matteo Bahoya with an ankle problem were injury doubts for the Whites, while Joe Rodon and Matteo Joseph are still sidelined, and the manager confirmed a new absence.
Speaking to the media on Thursday ahead of the encounter with the Gunners, Farke said: "Joe Rodon is on his way back, good progress, has already had individual sessions on the pitch.
"But it will be a bit until he back in team training.
"Daniel James will miss the Arsenal game, he came back with a back injury, more or less from his national team, he is not available for this game.
"Jean-Matteo came back with an ankle strain, looks way better, he was today the first time back out with us on the pitch, we have to wait right now to see how his body reacts, seems like there is a chance that he is available.
"Some good news is Harry Wilson, after his muscle injury, he is back in team training since Tuesday, again we also have to wait, but there is a chance for him to be available, yes."
If Wilson is back in the mix, can he make the impact that the Peacocks need him to, with James now out?
How has Wilson performed for Leeds so far?
Farke branded Wilson as "excellent" after his debut in the top-flight clash with Nottingham Forest back in August.
However, the 69-cap international is yet to score or assist for the Peacocks after his free transfer earlier this summer.
He notched 10 goals and seven assists last campaign, so he can clearly have the required impact for the Peacocks.
He has only started one league game so far, with four total appearances, but his underlying numbers suggest it is a matter of time before he gets back to his usual level.
The Welshman has only averaged 0.62 shots according to FotMob data, but the figures of 2.47 chances created and 3.08 touches in the opposition box per 90 minutes, suggest he will start contributing shortly.
His campaign has not been helped by the issue that he has been suffering from in recent weeks.
Hopefully, he can bounce back soon and show Whites supporters exactly what he can bring to the side when he is fully over the problem.
He could do that against the champions after the new update.
