Kalvin Phillips' transfer value according to Leeds United fans revealed

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips’ transfer value is that of one of Europe’s elite defensive midfielders, according to a fresh fan study.

Leeds Live (22 April) found in their survey of 1300 supporters that 50.1% believe the England international to be valued between £70m to £100m, highlighting just how influential the academy graduate is at Elland Road.

Talks over a new deal for the 26-year-old have supposedly been pushed back to the summer whilst the club focuses on avoiding relegation from the Premier League, whilst rumours continue to swirl over interest from league rivals.

Key Figure

Whilst speculation about Phillips’ future will always be rife due to the quality he possesses it would take a huge fee to prize him away from Elland Road.

He’s never shown any signs of wanting to depart and although he has missed a large chunk of this campaign due to injury there is no doubting the midfielder’s importance to this team when he is fit.

His superb form last season saw him establish himself in Gareth Southgate’s England line-up for Euro 2020 where the Three Lions came agonisingly close to lifting their first trophy since 1966.

Adam Forshaw has been a superb deputy during Phillips’ absence, but with his season now confirmed to be over the academy graduate’s return to fitness couldn’t have come at a better time.

Jesse Marsch has said his star man is likely to start on Monday night against Crystal Palace and he’ll be desperate to get a consistent run of games in to help his boyhood club stave off relegation.

In other Leeds United news, Patrick Vieira has an injury worry for this key midfielder ahead of Palace versus Leeds.
