Leeds United urged to arrange midfielder deal as soon as possible
David Norris says Leeds United must secure a new midfielder as quickly as they can.
Leeds looked destined to complete a deal for Premier League veteran Cheikhou Kouyate, but the 34-year-old failed a medical and the club opted against taking the risk [talkSPORT].
Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell remain Daniel Farke’s only senior central midfield options until at least January if they do not take advantage of the free-agent market.
“I’ve seen situations and been in situations where the club will disregard the medical when they really want to get a player over the line,” Norris exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“It’s obviously something that could be serious and that’s why they’ve backed out of the deal.
“They’re still massively short in that area so they need to bring people in.”
