Leeds United youngster Luca Thomas surely now in Daniel Farke thoughts at Elland Road
Lucas Thomas has been named Leeds United Under-21s’ Player of the Month for February in a further sign that he is heading to the top.
The 19-year-old caught the eye for the Leeds age-grade side in their five outings across this month, earning him the award [LUFC Youth, 27 February].
Thomas scored in the 3-3 Premier League Cup draw with Chelsea and also netted in the 3-2 win at Bournemouth in the same competition.

With six goals in 17 domestic cup outings this season, Thomas is starting to show that there is more to him than just potential.
The teenager has already been involved in first-team training, albeit prior to Daniel Farke’s arrival at Elland Road.
Thomas will now be hoping to catch Farke’s eye, and he is certainly going the right way about doing so with his performances for the U21s.
The big issue the English youngster faces, of course, is that Leeds have a whole array of top-quality attackers already on their books.
Given the Whites are deep into a scrap for automatic promotion, Farke will unlikely see this as a good time to throw Thomas into the mix.
However, it may well be that the former Manchester City product is given a chance further down the line, with Farke not afraid to turn to youth.
Perhaps more likely is a season out on loan from this summer where he can get a feel for regular football at senior level.
Whichever way Leeds go with it, Thomas certainly appears to have a bright future at Elland Road.
