Wilfried Gnonto exit update emerges at Leeds United after Everton transfer developments
Everton are set to up their interest in Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto after new transfer developments at Goodison Park, according to i News.
The outlet reported on its website on Wednesday (24 July) that the Toffees will be able to move onto new targets, including the Italian international soon as Jesper Lindstrom closes in on an initial loan move to Merseyside.
Gnonto remains a priority for Sean Dyche’s side this summer and is understood to be keen on joining Everton, who do still have money to spend having sold Amadou Onana to Aston Villa for £50million.
However, the Toffees will not overpay for the 20-year-old this summer and therefore there is an expectation that a deal between the two clubs could be difficult to broker.
Will Wilfried Gnonto exit Leeds United amid Everton transfer speculation?
Leeds United have already seen some high-profile departures this summer with both Archie Gray and Glen Kamara leaving Elland Road, but there is still an expectation that more players could follow out the exit door.
Although the Whites want to lose Gnonto or Crysencio Summerville for that matter, while they’re in the Championship every player will have a price and should that price be met, a move away cannot be out of the equation.
However, Daniel Farke’s side are in a position where they can stand by their valuation as they don’t need to desperately raise funds and that could well be enough to help them keep the Italian international for another few months.

If Everton aren’t willing to overpay, Leeds can up their valuation and effectively price the Toffees out of a transfer. The only issue with that approach is the fact it could potentially leave Gnonto disappointed if he misses out on his move.
It will be interesting to see if an official offer arrives at Elland Road for the winger once Lindstrom’s move is confirmed in the coming days.
