Leeds United talent Reuben Lopata-White faces a critical spell away from the club.
The 20-year-old has come through the ranks at Thorp Arch and is highly-rated by academy staff.
He has joined National League side Altrincham for the first-half of the 2026-27 campaign.
The Peacocks announced the six-month loan switch on Friday, wishing the player luck at Moss Lane.
The hope will be that he can kick on and show that he is ready for a higher level of football.

The loan with the Robins could be vital for Lopata-White's chances of eventually featuring under Daniel Farke.
He signed his first professional contract with the club he has been at since the age of 10 in 2024, which runs until summer 2027.
The centre-back has just 12 months left on that deal, if he can't perform in the fifth-tier of English football surely he will not earn a new deal.
There will be another six months for him to earn a potential extension to those terms, but it will unlikely that he can turn heads in that timeframe.
Therefore, he needs to bed in quickly and start making waves at his new team, otherwise it may prove to be the end of the road with his boyhood side.
As he will not have a chance to overhaul the likes of Jaka Bijol and Joe Rodon in the future otherwise.
When will Lopata-White make his debut for new loan club?
Lopata-White will be available to feature immediately for Neil Gibson's side.
The Whites confirmed that he could play in the clash against Sutton United on Saturday, in the announcement about his loan exit.
He will hope to do just that, and get started quickly with the Greater Manchester club
The more he plays in the opening weeks, the more he will adapt and get comfortable in his new surroundings.
That gives him the best chance of playing well and putting Farke on notice and earning a new contract in the process to remain in Yorkshire.
If it goes the opposite way, though, and he can't get into the side or he does not perform adequately, it could spell the end of his time with the Premier League outfit.
