Why Leeds United will get Roony Bardghji clarity imminently after Barcelona approach
Leeds United are a maximum of 10 days away from learning whether Roony Bardghji will be arriving at Elland Road.
MOT Leeds News has reported extensively on Leeds' interest in Barcelona talent Bardghji over the past month or so.
The 20-year-old only arrived at Camp Nou 12 months ago, but the Catalan giants are ready to let him leave.
Bardghji featured 21 times for Barca in LaLiga last season, but only a third of those appearances were starts.
He was previously one of the hottest talents anywhere in European football after starring for FC Copenhagen.
Leeds are not alone in their interest in the right-sided attacker, but they will learn if they have been successful or not very soon indeed.
Barcelona open to two options for Roony Bardghji amid Leeds interest
Bardghji's playing time at Barcelona is going to be even more limited next season following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.
But that is not to say he cannot be a big success elsewhere, including at Elland Road.
Friday's print edition of Mundo Deportivo reports that Leeds are one of a handful of Premier League clubs to have approached Barcelona.
Brighton and Hove Albion, Fulham, Aston Villa and Everton are the others mentioned, as well as a host of clubs across Europe's top five leagues.
Barca are open to a loan exit for Bardghji, or potentially a permanent sale with a buy-back option.
And the report also adds Barcelona want a decision made either way by 27 July, so Leeds won't have to wait long for an outcome on a player who has earned rave reviews.
Hansi Flick quotes on Bardghji should get Leeds fans excited
The fact so many teams are in for Bardghji means Leeds supporters won't exactly be getting his name on their new shirts just yet.
But if he does arrive, Daniel Farke will have a serious talent that he can call upon out wide.
Head coach Hansi Flick regularly hailed the Sweden international in his maiden campaign at Barca, even if he did not start regularly.
"He is an extraordinary player who plays with the best in the world, and he has also developed a lot," Flick said towards the end of last season.
Flick also hailed Bardghji as "outstanding", but reiterated the young talent simply has too much competition ahead of him.
First-team opportunities will be easier to come by in West Yorkshire, albeit he will still have to work extremely hard.
If Leeds can nab him on loan, that will then free up funds to be spent elsewhere, making this a win-win move.
