What Natan will add to Leeds defence as approach made for Real Betis defender
Leeds United are said to be among the clubs who have enquired about Real Betis defender Natan.
The Whites are on the lookout for a new left-footed centre-back to replace Pascal Struijk during the summer transfer window.
Last week, Leeds agreed a deal reportedly worth around £20million to sell Dutch defender Struijk to Premier League rivals Brighton.
Leeds were hopeful of agreeing a new contract with the 26-year-old, whose deal at Elland Road ran until June 2027.
However, Struijk wanted to try a new challenge, and will have European football with the Seagulls, who qualified for the Conference League.
The hunt to add a defender who will add left-footed balance is now seemingly stepping up for Leeds.
Leeds face Premier League competition for Natan signature
Brazilian ace Natan is a man whos signature is seemingly in demand this transfer window.
The 25-year-old was previously linked to LaLiga champions Barcelona by Mundo Deportivo earlier this month.
And it appears as though Leeds are not the only club in the Premier League tracking the former Napoli defender.
According to Spanish journalist Fran Campos Vazquez, who appears for DAZN and El Chiringuito as well as 101tv Sevilla, both Leeds and Brentford have made enquiries about Natan's availability.
Vazquez specificially noted that Leeds' financial project is strong when reporting on the Whites' interest.
Serie A giants Roma are also said to be keeping an eye on the situation, so there is set to be strong competition for his signature this season.
What would Natan bring to Leeds?
Losing Struijk, especially to a Premier League rival, is obviously a blow.
Not least becomes left-footed centre-backs are at somewhat of a premium, especially ones with the qualiies of Struijk.
Natan would add balance to Daniel Farke's backline whether that be in a two or a three-man central defence unit.
The 25-year-old possesses good speed, and is calm on the ball, allowing him to play a high defensive line, and use his power of recovery to good effect.
He is also physical, and a willing competitor in aerial duels, which could be a benefit in the physical world of the Premier League.
Natan has good distribution skills and looks to play through the lines from the back. He could be a real asset for Farke if a deal could be struck.
