'What a player', 'Not as daft as it may first seem' - Some Leeds fans react to transfer report

Leeds United fans are finding it hard to believe a report which claims that Elland Road is a likely destination for Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland next summer.

According to Bleacher Report, Leeds would be the most likely English club to land the 19-year-old if they win promotion to the Premier League.

Haaland was born in Leeds and his father, Alf-Inge, played for the Whites in the 1990s.

The Norway international has been in incredible form for Salzburg this season, scoring 28 goals and supplying seven assists in just 22 appearances across all competitions.

Even though the quality of opposition is low in Austria, Haaland has still proven he is a capable goalscorer against the top teams by netting eight goals in six Champions League group stage outings – with one of them coming against Liverpool.

Haaland’s ridiculous goalscoring form has understandably led to speculation surrounding his future in Salzburg with Leeds now being linked with the in-form Norwegian.

However a section of fans on Twitter are finding the speculation way too hard to believe, simply because of how good the young forward is.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

This next fan does find the story a bit more believable than others but until Leeds actually win promotion, it is probably best to take stories like this with a pinch of salt.

In other Leeds United news, Paul Robinson has said who Victor Orta should sign if Leeds win promotion.
