Three bids made as Leeds United reach Diego Llorente transfer agreement
Leeds United have agreed a deal with Real Betis for defender Diego Llorente after a third bid was submitted, according to Marca.
Writing in their print edition (8 July, page 18), the Spanish newspaper reports that the clubs have agreed on a deal worth £2.5million with the centre-back set to sign a four-year deal.
The Whites previously rejected two offers but were always open to allowing the 30-year-old to leave the club permanently after spending the last 18 months on loan at AS Roma.
Leeds United agree to sell Diego Llorente to Real Betis
Leeds have so far been prioritising exits at Elland Road this summer and it’s the fringe players who have been moved on for the most part.
Archie Gray’s move to Spurs has obviously been completed but it has also given the club a bit more financial security, which means other key players won’t be allowed to move so easily.
But players like Kristoffer Klaesson, Marc Roca and now Llorente have been allowed to move on as they aren’t part of Daniel Farke’s plans long-term.

There has been suggestions that Leeds rejected a £5million bid earlier this window [Adam Pope, 3 July] for Llorente from Betis, so the fee is an odd one if it is actually lower, but the terms will be more favourable.
It’s a new era at Elland Road and several old faces won’t be part of it. Llorente is one of those, and fans will not miss him whatsoever.
In other Leeds news, one midfielder is set to agree personal terms to leave Elland Road permanently.
