Leeds United completed a late swoop for winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya on deadline day.

The Frenchman has arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, with a conditional obligation to buy clause.

His arrival was crucial in Leeds' ability to allow Wilfried Gnonto to depart Elland Road for Fiorentina.

The move for Bahoya came as a surprise deal late on deadline day, and fortunately, the Whites were able to get it over the line in time.

The official Leeds channels have confirmed it as a done deal but supporters are eager to see him in the famous Whites jersey, and here is why it has yet to happen.

The reason behind delay to see Jean-Matteo Bahoya in a Leeds kit

Leeds United fans are understandably eager to see their new signing don the colours of the LS11 outfit.

On deadline day, Leeds were able to conduct a full announcement and video for Melvin Bard's arrival.

But Bahoya was not afforded the same luxury.

According to BBC journalist Adam Pope, the reason behind Bahoya yet to be seen in a Leeds jersey is quite simple.

It is mainly down to the fact that his move to Elland Road was such a late one struck.

Leeds had only confirmed Bahoya as a signing at 45 minutes past midnight on 2 September when the window had shut 105 minutes prior.

A deal sheet was submitted to allow extra time to formalise the paperwork, showing how late the move actually came.

Why patience must be required for Bahoya-Leeds images

With a race against time to get the transfer over the line, Leeds likely ignored all of the usual announcement formalities such as a first interview and being photographed in the kit.

However, that may all come in due course throughout the week, with Bahoya likely being in Daniel Farke's squad to face Brighton on Saturday, 5 September.

The new arrival will link up with his new teammates beforehand, and the social media team at Elland Road will undoubtedly be quick to share snippets of Bahoya in action.

It will only be a matter of time before that is the case, but Bahoya is officially a Leeds player, and that is all that matters at the moment.
