'There is one man who can fill the void' – Leeds Super Fans react to Pablo Hernandez injury

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road and Thorp Arch.

–––––––––––––––––

So, the 11-game unbeaten run came to an end for Leeds United when they lost 2-1 to Fulham on Saturday.

Worse, Leeds lost Pablo Hernandez in the second minute of the game. He limped off with a hamstring problem and Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that he’s out for at least a month.

It’s not great but things could be a lot worse.

We’re still eight points clear of third and looking super-strong for automatic promotion at the halfway point of the season.

Bielsa also knows more about the Championship than he did last season.

But is the Leeds squad big enough to get through the second half of the campaign?

Do we need to sign a replacement for Hernandez in January or is the current squad strong enough to cope?

Paul Robinson thinks that Gjanni Alioski is good enough to step up – as long as the injury to Hernandez doesn’t turn out to be worse than indicated.

Alioski came on for Hernandez in the Fulham game and helped create the Leeds goal. Bielsa has confirmed that he will play against Preston on Boxing Day.

Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton are on the brink of returning to the first-team, too. Adam Forshaw could be back in another couple of weeks.

Bielsa has options but what do our Super Fans think? Stick or twist? That’s the question we put to them and this is what they had to say…

There’s concern from the Super Fans – obviously – but the majority of them think that either we can cope or that we’ll have to cope.

The majority think that Tyler Roberts is the answer but he’s only just come back from injury himself and he’s not got the best fitness record.

In other Leeds United news… Paul Robinson claims Leeds already have replacement for Pablo Hernandez
