Summerville wants Leeds United exit to join Hamburg, Marcelo Bielsa responds
Crysensio Summerville wants to join Hamburg SV but Marcelo Bielsa would rather have the winger stay at Leeds United, according to BILD.
The German newspaper reports on their website that Hamburg have money to spend on new signings this month and Summerville, 20, has indicated to club chiefs he’d be keen on a loan move to the 2.Bundesliga club.
However, it is understood that due to the injury issues at Leeds, Bielsa isn’t keen on loaning Summerville out.
Leeds’ injury crisis has, hopefully, already been at the worst point it can be so we don’t see why Summerville’s loan move cannot be granted by Bielsa.
The former Feyenoord winger has played eight times for the first team this season but hasn’t made Bielsa’s last two matchday squads in the Premier League.
Summerville prefers to play on the right-wing and Bielsa has options in that area in Daniel James and Raphinha while Jack Harrison, Stuart Dallas and even Rodrigo can play there if needed.
Bielsa has plenty of wingers so for the long-term, loaning out Summerville may be the best option and we don’t want a scenario that sees the Dutchman stay at Elland Road and then not play again all season.
He won’t be happy with that so we feel as though Bielsa would be wise to allow Summerville to join Hamburg on loan.
Cody Drameh was allowed to join Cardiff on loan earlier this month despite the injuries at Elland Road.
Drameh seemed to want that move in the same way Summerville wants this one.
Things could change over the coming days, we suppose.
