Summerville situation up in the air amid advanced Hamburg talks to sign Leeds United ace
Crysenscio Summerville’s situation at Leeds United is “very much up in the air”, according to The Athletic journalist Phil Hay.
HSV1887tv reported via their Facebook account on 25 January that Hamburg are in advanced talks over a loan-to-buy deal to sign the 20-year-old winger from Leeds.
LeedsLive reports that Leeds will not agree a permanent exit for Summerville but The Athletic journalist Hay admits that a loan deal could be on the cards as that is why the Whites are eyeing up Liverpool’s Takumi Minamo as a possible replacement.
The Express reported this week that Leeds have made an approach for Japan international Minamino but it was rejected by Liverpool.
Loan him out
Summerville hasn’t made Leeds’ last two matchday squads and even if we had injuries to players like Raphinha and Daniel James, Bielsa would still be able to play Stuart Dallas, Tyler Roberts, Stuart McKinstry or even Rodrigo to play on the right-wing.
We really do not need to sign a replacement for Summerville before we sign a central midfielder or a striker – Marcelo Bielsa needs one or two of those instantly.

Summerville is by no means a key player. He’s still an Under-23s player who’s been in the first-team squad at times this season simply to make up the numbers.
We understand the resistance against agreeing a permanent exit for the Dutch winger because he’s shown a lot of promise in his first year and a half at Elland Road.
However, a loan deal for the rest of the season will only serve as a boost for Leeds in their bid to develop the ex-Feyenoord attacker into someone who’s ready to start in the Premier League.
We loaned out Cody Drameh with what felt like no questions asked.
Why is there so much of a debate about whether to loan out Summerville?
