Leeds United in advanced talks over Summerville loan-to-buy switch to Hamburg
Hamburg SV are in advanced talks to sign Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, according to HSV1887tv.
The reliable Hamburg news outlet reported via their Facebook account on 25 January that the German club is negotiating a loan deal for 20-year-old Summerville with an option for the move to be made permanent in the summer.
HSV1887tv’s post says: “According to several consistent sources, HSV are in advanced negotiations with Leeds United winger Crysensio Summerville. A loan with an option to buy is under discussion.”
HSV1887tv has over 44,000 followers on Facebook and German newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost cites the news outlet as a reliable source.
Hamburger Abendblatt reports that Hamburg have spoken to Summerville’s agent and BILD claims talks have started to gain intensity.

We cannot see why Leeds would allow Summerville to leave permanently because the Dutch winger is one of the most promising young talents at Elland Road.
It would make sense to let Summerville leave on loan.
He has shown in his eight senior appearances for Leeds that he has potential and a loan move away from West Yorkshire, which will allow him to get more game-time, will benefit everyone.
Marcelo Bielsa has plenty of strength in depth on the wings, meaning that Summerville hasn’t even made either of the manager’s last two matchday squads in the Premier League.
Since playing for over half an hour against Wolves on 23 October, the former Feyenoord winger has played just once in the Premier League.
Hamburg are doing well in 2.Bundesliga, sitting in fifth place right now. They’re a massive club in Germany that are gunning for a return to the top-flight.
You have to admit that their situation sounds very similar to the one that Leeds fans endured until Bielsa’s arrival so a move there would be quite fitting.
We just really don’t want a permanent option to be agreed.
In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano says the Whites are “obsessed” with getting a deal done for this player before the deadline next week.
