Summerville agent in talks over 'immediate' Leeds United exit to join Hamburg

Hamburg are in talks with Crysencio Summerville’s agent over a late January loan deal for the Leeds United winger, according to Hamburger Abendblatt.

The German newspaper reports on their website that Hamburg’s sports director Michael Mutzel is in talks with the 20-year-old’s representatives over an “immediate change”.

It is understood that Summerville’s wages could be an issue for Hamburg but Mutzel already has a relationship with Seraino Dalgliesh.

He works for the Wasserman agency, who have the Leeds winger on their books.

Deal or no deal?

Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta have quite a big decision to make here because while Summerville is someone who’s been in the senior squad this season, they don’t want to risk upsetting the talent.

Joining Hamburg on loan for the rest of the season – if he plays regularly – could be a massive boost for the 20-year-old Dutchman’s progression.

Every Leeds fan is excited by Summerville with the ex-Feyenoord attacker showing plenty of promise in his eight senior appearances for the Yorkshire club.

Noel Whelan, speaking to Football Insider in August, 2021, said that Summerville is a “brilliant” and “electric” young winger who’s “one to watch” at Elland Road.

However, the Dutch dazzler hasn’t played in the Premier League since December 18 in the 4-0 defeat to Arsenal. He’s since missed out on Bielsa’s last two matchday squads in the league.

We cannot blame Summerville for wanting to leave on loan and we feel Leeds have enough depth in his position that they can afford to let him go temporarily.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has mooted another major loan exit in the final days of the January window.
