Sources: Jack Harrison exit faces further delay due to matter out of Leeds United's hands

Jack Harrison's move from Leeds United to New England Revolution still has one final obstacle to overcome, MOT Leeds News understands.

The winger's eight-year spell at Elland Road - much of that spent away on loan - is close to coming to an end.

Harrison returned to West Yorkshire last season after two years on loan with Everton, where his impact was minimal.

After failing to impress under Daniel Farke in the first half of 2025-26, Harrison was again on the move, this time on loan to Fiorentina.

Now, after a succession of underwhelming campaigns, Leeds are about to get the big-earning attacker off their books for good.

But before Harrison can put pen to paper with New England Revolution, some final paperwork needs sorting.

Harrison is set to join the Revs as a Designated Player which, importantly for Leeds, means a permanent exit and not just a loan deal.

This comes after the two clubs came to an agreement, with Leeds unwilling to carry on paying Harrison's hefty weekly wages.

Now, MOT Leeds News can reveal that Harrison still needs to obtain a work visa before the transfer can be signed off on.

This is part of the process, but it means the deal will be delayed in going through for now.

An announcement may be delayed until as far back as next Wednesday as a result, depending on how long the process takes.

Why Harrison exit is coming at perfect time for Leeds

There is nothing to suggest this deal will not finally go through, which is great news for Leeds.

Harrison did have some highlights at Elland Road, notably under Marcelo Bielsa, but that was a long time ago and he has since burned bridges with supporters.

Ultimately, Leeds will just be delighted to get his mammoth wages off their books two years early.

As talk ramps up of James Trafford arriving at Leeds, funds will need to be freed up to afford that deal.
