Some Leeds fans react to Phil Hay update on player: ‘It was all about Orta’s ego’, ‘Get him out’

Leeds United fans are not exactly happy with the reports that are surfacing about Eddie Nketiah at the moment.

According to football.london, Arsenal have decided that they are going to recall the 20-year-old striker from his loan spell at Elland Road due to the lack of game-time he has had in the Championship.

However The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has since reported via his personal Twitter account that Leeds are yet to be told whether Nketiah is going back to the Emirates earlier than what was originally scheduled.

It is a bit of a strange situation because there are a lot of reports that are making it very clear that Nketiah is going to be recalled by Arsenal – but Leeds do not have any clarity at this stage.

Either that or the Championship leaders are simply keeping their lips sealed so that there is no vital team news that is leaked ahead of the big match against West Brom on New Years Day.

Arsenal cannot be blamed for wanting to recall Nketiah but fans are really not happy about it.

One has even accused director of football Victor Orta of making the loan deal all about him, rather than signing someone Marcelo Bielsa actually wanted.

It’s a bit of an extreme take and based on the fact that Nketiah has appeared so regularly off the bench suggests that Bielsa definitely wanted him as a back-up for Patrick Bamford.
