Some Leeds fans react to defender transfer development: 'More FFP money', 'Get rid'
Laurens De Bock has returned to Leeds United after a miserable loan spell at Sunderland – and some fans want to see the left-back sold straight away.
Sunderland manager Phil Parkinson, as quoted by the Shields Gazette, has confirmed that the Belgian defender, 27, has had his loan deal at the Stadium of Light terminated early.
Parkinson also revealed that De Bock is keen to quit English football together after two miserable years since joining Leeds from Club Brugge in January 2018.
De Bock has only made seven appearances since joining Leeds and only played 10 times in all competitions in the first half of this season during his loan spell at League One side Sunderland.
It really is not a shock that he wants to return to Belgium and it is also not a surprise to see that some Leeds fans on Twitter want to see the back of the left-back.
De Bock is one of the worst signings of Victor Orta’s time as director of football and there are too many players who are still technically on the books at Elland Road that are pointless keeping hold of.
And when Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team squad could do with some additions made to it in January, any money saved on wages or made on transfer exits is good news.
That is what a section of Leeds fans believe and here is a selection of their tweets:
so get rid of de bock, coyle, o’kane, cibicki and wages from clarke and eddie, and maybe get rid of the myth bouy too, all them goone should free up a decent amount of wages to invest this jan #lufc
