Sky Sports pundit predicts 'strong bid' for Leeds United star Raphinha in 2022

Clinton Morrison expects Leeds United winger Raphinha to be the subject of a bid next summer amid a stunning run of form in the Premier League this season.

Raphinha, 24, scored for the sixth time in the Premier League this season when he netted a late penalty to win the match against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.

The Brazil international has been linked with a move away from Elland Road and Sky Sports pundit Morrison feels someone will swoop in for the winger in the 2022 summer transfer window.

“Everyone wants to play Champions League football and he is good enough, Raphinha. He’s got so much ability,” said Morrison on Amazon Prime’s live coverage before the match on Tuesday night.

“I don’t think he’ll be going in January but I think at the end of the season, a strong bid will come in for him.

“He can go to the next level and beyond. He’s a top player.”

Incredible Raph

Raphinha is just so good.

He’s easily the best player Leeds United have had since their financial downfall in the early 2000s and it’s very clear that he can keep on going from strength to strength under Marcelo Bielsa.

However, we’ve got to be realistic here and accept that Raphinha is someone who should be playing regular European football and could easily slot into a team challenging for silverware.

According to TeamTalk, Paris Saint-Germain are among the teams who are having a look at Raphinha, who’ll enter the final two years of his contract at Elland Road next summer.

Rather than see him go into the last 18 months of his deal, a move away from Yorkshire next summer may happen because he’ll be at his peak value.

Raphinha’s tearing it up for both Leeds and Brazil so he could bag the club a lot of money and help Victor Orta strengthen multiple areas of a squad that has flaws all over the place.

Raphinha himself may be irreplaceable but we’ve got to accept that it’s very unlikely he’ll be a Leeds United player by the time the summer transfer window closes next year.
