It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano posted an update on two major Leeds United deals overnight.

Early on Monday morning, Romano repeated the claim from journalist Gianluigi Longari that Leeds have agreed a five-year deal for Rennes winger Raphinha.

Romano added that the issue of a work permit had to be sorted and the player had to take his medical ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday.

Romano also claimed that on the back of this, Leeds have told Udinese that the deal for Rodrigo De Paul is "off right now".

No counting chickens

After what happened with Michael Cuisance, you won't find any Leeds fans counting chickens until the medical is passed and the work permit sorted.

However, there does seem to be something else going on with the Cuisance deal, with the midfielder now set to join Marseille on loan with an option to buy.

The work permit for Raphinha shouldn't be an issue as the player has been playing for Rennes for the whole of last season.

Unusually, with such a major deal on the cards, he played as recently as yesterday, scoring a goal in the 2-2 draw with Reims.

Raphinha scored five goals and added three assists in just 22 Ligue 1 games last season.

Romano claims that Leeds have told Udinese that a deal for De Paul is off because they're signing Raphinha.

That seems slightly odd given that Raphinha is a winger and De Paul more an attacking midfielder/number 10.

We hope that doesn't signify that Raphinha is the final deal of the window for Leeds as we'd still like a number 10 on deadline day.
