Roony Bardghji: Barcelona turnaround serves as warning for Leeds United
Roony Bardghji has been linked with a move to Leeds United ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Whites are set for another big recruitment push this summer as they look to solidify their Premier League status, and attacking reinforcements will be high on their agenda.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor have carried Daniel Farke's attack throughout the campaign, and the German will be looking to reduce the pressure on the pair by adding more quality.
That has, in turn, seen Leeds again linked with a move to sign Sweden interntional and Barcelona winger Bardghji, who was a target last winter.
However, while his wonderkid status may spark intrigue, the recent updates on his future may also spark concern.
Why would Barcelona sanction Roony Bardghji exit?
MOT Leeds News revealed in December that the Whites were considering making a loan approach for Bardghji.
However, the LaLiga giants seemed against the idea of sanctioning his exit, with the 20-year-old going on to start just five more games before the end of the campaign.
Given the fact that Lamine Yamal is his competition, that lack of gametime is fairly understandable, though what may not be is the way that Barcelona have seemingly changed their stance.
If the Catalan outfit are now prepared to part ways with the winger, some questions must be asked as to why that could be the case.
What would Bardghji bring to Leeds?
Despite his lack of gametime for Barcelona last season, there were still several glimpses on offer in regard to the quality he can bring to the table.
Only 5.6 per cent of LaLiga wingers averaged more completed dribbles per 90 than the Swede, showcasing the fact that he would be a player capabale of getting Leeds up the pitch.
Okafor aside, the Whites have lacked that type of profile, demonstrating that it is an area they need to improve in.
Bardghji would certainly boost the level of creativity in the squad, though, with just 17 career goals from over 100 appearances, he may not have what it takes to reduce the pressure on the above and Calvert-Lewin to score the goals.
