Juan Foyth is expected to leave Tottenham at the end of the season with Leeds United keen on striking a deal, according to El Dia.
The Argentine news outlet claims that it is “practically a fact” that the 22-year-old will end his spell at Spurs with him being linked with Barcelona and clubs in Serie A, as well as Leeds.
Foyth’s former club Estudiantes is set to benefit from any sale that Spurs make due to a sell-on clause that was agreed when he joined the London club in 2017.
El Dia’s example says that if Spurs sell Foyth for €20million, Estudiantes will receive €1million of what the Premier League club pockets.
It doesn’t mean that is how much Spurs want for the Argentina international but he is likely to cost Leeds a lot of money if they do press on with a deal for him.
Leeds will need a new centre-back or two once this season is over and done with as Ben White’s loan deal ends and Gaetano Berardi’s contract is due to expire.
Foyth has Premier League experience, playing 16 times in the top-flight but he has not really excelled in North London.
Marcelo Bielsa is bound to be able to get the best out of his fellow Argentine so Foyth could be a really good signing if Leeds can get him for a good price.
