Rennes want to sign Leeds United star Glen Kamara as £16.9m transfer development emerges
Rennes want to sign Leeds United midfield ace Glen Kamara this summer to bolster their midfield options, according to L’Equipe.
Writing on their website (30 June), the French news outlet report that the Ligue 1 club are eyeing midfield options to strengthen the squad after already losing Jeanuel Belocian to Bayer Leverkusen and Fabia Reider to Stuttgart.
But with Enzo Le Fee set to join Roma in a deal worth £16.9million, the club have identified Kamara as an option to strengthen this summer after Leeds failed to earn promotion back to the Premier League.
Leeds United in danger of having squad ripped apart
The summer transfer is finally coming to life at Elland Road, but not in a good way for the fans.
Archie Gray is on the verge of an exit after a whirlwind 24 hours that saw him undergo a medical for Brentford, only for Leeds to reject their bid and Spurs to swoop at the last minute, while Crysencio Summerville has been targeted by Brighton too.
But now it looks like they could lose yet another midfielder just 12 months after bringing him to the club, and it may be a deal that they can’t refuse.

After spending £5million to take him from Rangers, Rennes are looking to strengthen and if they make an offer that gives the club their money back or even a profit then it will surely be something that is considered.
Ethan Ampadu has been linked to Aston Villa and Ilia Gruev linked to Borussia Dortmund too so it could be an entirely new look midfield next season, which will no doubt put promotion at risk.
In other Leeds news, Archie Gray’s stance has emerged amidst a battle between Spurs and Brentford for his signature.
