Rennes now want to sign Crysencio Summerville as one Leeds United exit agreed
Rennes want to sign Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, according to Foot Mercato.
As reported by the French news outlet online (16 July), the Ligue 1 outfit are interested in signing the 22-year-old as a potential replacement for exit-linked star Désiré Doué.
Rennes are yet to make a concrete offer for Summerville and face competition from Chelsea for the forward.
It comes after Ouest France reported in their print edition (page 18, 16 July) that Glen Kamara’s move from the Whites to Rennes is all but confirmed, with an agreement in principle in place.

It looks as if Rennes are keen to raid Elland Road during this summer transfer window.
While Kamara’s move to the French outfit makes sense, it would perhaps be slightly more surprising if Summerville was to agree to join the Ligue 1 side.
Kamara enjoyed a solid season in the Championship last year, but it wouldn’t be unfair to suggest that Summerville is a more high-profile player.
He was the Championship’s Player of the Season during the 2023/24 campaign, and would perhaps have his sights set on a slightly bigger club.
Rennes finished mid-table in Ligue 1 last season, and Summerville likely has ambitions of competing with a club in Europe.
According to the print edition of the Sunday Mirror (page 74, 14 July), the Whites are ready to grant permission for Summerville to leave the club.

His exit feels inevitable, and therefore, the more clubs that are interested in the forward the better it is for Leeds.
In other Leeds United news, Newcastle United are interested in signing another forward at the club.
