Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara is set to meet his new Rennes teammates in the coming days, according to Ouest France.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition (July 16, page 18), that the Finnish midfielder's move from Elland Road is all but confirmed with an agreement in principle in place between the two clubs and the player.

It is said that Kamara is now set to meet up with Julien Stephan's men in Dinard, where they are currently undergoing pre-season training, within the next few days.

Glen Kamara transfer agreed at Leeds United

Following the sale of home-grown wonderkid, Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £40million, United are now seriously lacking in the middle of the park.

Kamara may not have been a stand-out for the club last season, but he was a reliable performer, winning 57.5 per cent of his duels and making 33 interceptions for Leeds United throughout the Championship season [Fotmob].

Not only were his defensive numbers impressive, but his ability to progress the ball up the pitch was vital for Daniel Farke as the Whites made their way to the play-off final. A 69.2 per cent dribble success rate and a pass accuracy of 92.9 per cent speak for themselves.

With more departures likely to happen over the summer transfer window, Leeds United are going to have to put their hands in their pockets if they want to do what couldn't be done last season and make it back to the Premier League.
