Rodrigo Muniz has been continuously linked with a move to Leeds United.

The 24-year-old has made a name for himself in the Premier League over the last two seasons, having scored 21 goals throughout that period for Fulham.

However, with attacking options ahead of him at Craven Cottage, the Brazilian was afforded just eight league starts last season, with Leeds attracted to the idea of signing him.

The Whites were said to have had a bid rejected for Muniz last month, though they still have one eye on any future developments ahead of a potential move to Elland Road.

Leeds may need to raise funds to sign Muniz

Muniz would be a great addition for the Whites, and certainly a statement one, though according to the Mail Online (23 July), he could cost upwards of £40million.

As it stands, Leeds are yet to present an offer higher than £26m, with it claimed that they may have to offload several players to generate the funds to proceed with a deal.

To achieve that, Leeds need to accelerate the exit of Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph, both of whom look set to leave this summer.

Bamford was informed by Daniel Farke that he is no longer part of his plans, while Joseph handed in a transfer request, with a desire to move back to Spain.

Muniz is said to be keen on playing regular football, with one eye on making the Brazil World Cup squad, and Leeds would be able to offer that.

Bamford exit could boost Leeds survival hopes

Leeds could save over £700,000 in wages alone should Bamford move on this summer, with a transfer fee to add on top of that.

For Joseph, his exit could generate over £10m, leaving Leeds with significantly more money to splash on a striker, which has been a priority ever since they achieved promotion.

With the season less than a month away, these plans need to be accelerated.
