Noah Okafor responds directly as £35m deadline-busting bid revealed at Leeds United

Leeds United faced late interest in Noah Okafor on deadline day.

The Whites had a busy end to the summer window as they looked to add to their squad.

Daniel Farke brought in Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya, while Wilfried Gnonto and Largie Ramazani departed on loan.

That has finalised the side available at Elland Road until January, at least.

Things could have been different as Leeds dealt with a last-gasp bid for Okafor.

How did Leeds United react to Noah Okafor bid?

The Switzerland international has been a hit in LS11 ever since signing from AC Milan last summer.

His 11 goal involvements across all competitions last season certainly made a positive impression.

Injury problems have acted as a concern, but he still represents an important player in Yorkshire.

That is exactly how Leeds see him as a bid came in on deadline day.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday that the Whites have rejected several approaches for Okafor.

One of those was a £35m bid on Tuesday ahead of the window's closure.

The attacker wanted to stay at Elland Road, echoing the feelings of the LS11 club.

Where does Okafor fit in with Jean-Matteo Bahoya?

It came as a surprise that the Whites would make a deadline day swoop to sign the Frenchman from Eintracht Frankfurt.

They managed to pull off a loan move just in the nick of time to bring the 21-year-old to the Premier League.

He comes off the back of eight goal involvements in 37 appearances last season having created 31 chances and completed 41 dribbles in the Bundesliga.

His quality is clear, but many suggested that it may spell bad news for Okafor.

That clearly isn't the case as Leeds have moved to keep hold of the Swiss forward beyond deadline day.

Farke clearly has a plan for both, something which will only make the Whites stronger moving forward.
