Newcastle United could revisit bid for Leeds United ace Jack Harrison this summer - Sky Sports
Leeds United could face a fresh approach from Newcastle United for winger Jack Harrison this summer, according to a report from Sky Sports.
The Whites have already turned down bids from the Magpies for the 25-year-old, with Leeds holding out for around £40m to even consider doing business this summer.
But despite club owner Andrea Radrizzani saying there is “no way” Harrison will leave during this transfer window, Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie has suggested that Newcastle could look to revisit a deal later in the window if other transfers don’t come to fruition.
“Jack Harrison is another one. It’s my understanding Newcastle were interested but was something Leeds did not want to entertain at all. That might be one they try to revisit.”
Harrison started and had a great performance in the first game of the season as the Whites claimed a 2-1 win over Wolves on the opening day of the season.
Leeds absolutely have no need to sell anyone else this summer if they don’t want to, and they quite clearly don’t want to sell Harrison.
The team has got plenty of attacking options currently with Luis Sinisterra, Joe Gelhardt, Daniel James and Crysencio Summerville in addition to Aaronson all capable of playing in wide positions.
So a mega offer could be tempting, but Leeds need to show the rest of the Premier League that they aren’t pushovers and won’t sell key players late in the window when they don’t have to.
Harrison is clearly a key part of Marsch’s plans considering he started on the opening day of the season and he has all the technical and physical attributes to be a huge success at Elland Road.
Without a mega-money offer, Newcastle shouldn’t bother returning with a new bid of fresh talks because the answer must be the same as it was in June and July. Harrison goes nowhere.
