Mateo Joseph wants to quit Leeds United amid Liam Rosenior twist

Mateo Joseph may have played his final game for Leeds United.

Joseph struggled for gametime in the Championship under Daniel Farke, and with the Whites set for life back in the Premier League, questions emerged as to where the future would lie for the Spaniard.

The 21-year-old has shown signs of promise at Elland Road, but has been unable to translate his performances into goals, which has been his biggest concern.

With Leeds looking to add a striker to their roster this summer, Joseph would be pushed further down the pecking order, and it seems as though he isn’t prepared to stay and fight for a place.

Strasbourg eye move for Joseph as Leeds exit edges closer

Leeds rejected a bid from Real Betis in the winter for Joseph, and recent reports state that the La Liga outfit remains keen on signing him this summer.

A fee of around £20million may be enough for Leeds to sanction an exit for Joseph, who, according to TBR, has decided to move on from Elland Road.

Strasbourg, managed by Liam Rosenior, are also keen on bringing him to France, with several other clubs said to be interested in signing the forward.

With Callum Wilson one of several strikers linked with a move to the Whites, it seems evident that Joseph would be deemed surplus to requirements, with his exit now looking likely.

Joseph exit will boost Leeds transfer hopes

Leeds need to recruit well this summer, and in order to comply with PSR, they will need to move some of their fringe players on.

If a reasonable fee can be agreed for the sale of Joseph, it would be a deal that would suit both parties.

However, his exit would also amplify the need for a new striker arrival at Elland Road, which was surely already high up on the list of priorities.

If the Spaniard does depart this summer, the Whites will undoubtedly look to include a sell-on clause in any deal, given the fact that he still has bags of potential that could benefit them in the future.
