Marc Roca agrees personal terms to complete Leeds United exit
Marc Roca has reportedly agreed personal terms with Real Betis in anticipation of a possible permanent transfer from Leeds United, according to Diario ABC.
The report on 2 May reveals that, should Leeds fail to secure automatic promotion, the Whites would be obliged to sanction another loan due to a clause in Roca’s contract.
Roca has openly expressed his desire to remain at Betis, with the LaLiga club reciprocating that desire, leaving Leeds as the last remaining party to consent before a deal is sanctioned – and their promotion status is a significant factor in their negotiating position.
Leeds United departure for Real Betis-bound Marc Roca looks likely
In truth, a permanent move to Real Betis from Leeds looks to be the most likely scenario for Roca this summer.
The player’s open expression of desire to remain with his temporary employers in Seville – going so far as to agree personal terms in advance – makes a route back to Elland Road difficult to envisage, even if Leeds are promoted to the Premier League, via the playoffs or otherwise.
Additionally, while Roca’s performances in the Premier League with Leeds last season were far from catastrophic, the Spaniard has certainly not done enough to convince those at Elland Road that he is the calibre of player they must keep at all costs in order to help guarantee top-flight survival.

His greatest use to Leeds at this stage is most likely as a saleable asset as he enters the final two years of his contract at Elland Road. The only difference is how hard a bargain the Whites will be able to drive – and that will depend on what division they will be playing in next season.
