'Unreal business', 'Knight Victor Orta' - Many Leeds fans react to January transfer development

It comes as no surprise to see that Leeds United winger Jack Clarke will be recalled by Tottenham in January.

The Athletic journalist Phil Hay revealed on Thursday that the 19-year-old has trained for the final time with the club recently and will play no part in the upcoming games against both Preston and Birmingham.

It is suggested that Leeds were not initially interested in replacing Clarke, but could change their minds in the transfer window.

Clarke has only completed 19 minutes in the Championship and has failed to keep up his good form from last season in his breakthrough year in West Yorkshire.

It would come as no surprise because of the form of the likes of Jack Harrison and Helder Costa this season, with Leeds keeping up their form without the young wingers’ trickery out wide.

Many Leeds fans took to Twitter to react to the news that Clarke will be leaving the club, with the majority quite happy that the Premier League club have made the decision.

Here are a selection of the Tweets…

It seems harsh to suggest his career is over after only his first full senior season. It is hard to predict how his big-money move to Spurs will pan out, as it could be a reason behind him actually rekindling the talent he has shown before at Elland Road.

Leeds will be hoping that if he secures a move to another Championship club that he doesn’t come back to haunt them in the future – something many fans don’t seem to be worried about.
