Many Leeds fans worried as Phil Hay relays transfer news: ‘I’m at a loss’, ‘Getting very uneasy’
Leeds United fans are becoming less and less patient with every new young player that Victor Orta welcomes to Elland Road.
The Athletic journalist Phil Hay shared a transfer update on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday night, saying that the Whites have completed “another academy signing” after agreeing a three-year deal with former Ajax goalkeeper Dani van Den Heuvel.
Van den Heuvel is the fourth new young player to arrive at Elland Road this summer, following the likes of Charlie Allen, Cody Drameh and Joe Gelhardt in joining the newly-promoted Premier League club.
We don’t expect to see van den Heuvel play for the first team any time soon but the Netherlands and Ajax are known for developing top young players and we hope that the new Leeds goalkeeper can make it into the senior squad in the coming years.
However, some Leeds supporters are not so patient.
Marcelo Bielsa, Orta and Andrea Radrizzani have been busying completing deals since the end of last season with Helder Costa and Illan Meslier signing permanently and Jack Harrison being re-signed on loan from Manchester City.
That is a hell of a lot more business than some Premier League clubs have done, yet there are still a lot of concerns among supporters about the lack of new faces.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

This next fan also seems to be concerned by the lack of new faces in the first-team, saying that the clock is ticking.
However, everyone needs to remember that the transfer window is still open for another two months.
Although we all want to see signings done and dusted as soon as possible, the club might feel that transfer fees will drop or become more affordable later in the window.
Even if Leeds do not sign many new players this summer, is that not what fans expected?
Everyone should know by now that Bielsa is a fan of consistency. He hates changing his starting line-up unless he absolutely has to because he has a lot of faith in continuity and playing players who are fully up to his standards in terms of fitness and tactically.
If he signs a load of newbies this summer, it will take a lot of time for them to adapt and for him to play them so why not let him keep the faith with those he has and only add two or three new players to the mix?
In other Leeds United news, this Leeds-linked centre-back is ready to say goodbye to his club.
