Manor Solomon to sign for Leeds United on loan from Tottenham as medical plan emerges
Manor Solomon is now about to sign for Leeds United on loan from Tottenham ahead of the transfer deadline, according to Paul O Keefe.
The FA registered agent and reliable Spurs source reported via X on 23 August that the Whites are close to landing another late signing, with a medical potentially to be conducted on Saturday 24 August.
The versatile attacker would be the second of four signings Daniel Farke wants before the window shuts [The Athletic, 16 August] after losing a number of key players, following the confirmed deal for Largie Ramazani from Almeria.
O Keefe wrote: “Manor Solomon on the verge of joining Leeds on loan. If things go to plan he could even have a medical tomorrow”.
He will join Bournemouth midfielder as loan additions at Elland Road this summer if he completes the switch from Tottenham.
Leeds United to sign Spurs man after Largie Ramazani deal
The action is arguably coming much too late in the window but the Whites are finally now responding with purpose after Georginio Rutter joined the list of big names to depart.
In Solomon and Ramazani Farke will hope to replace the output of the former Leeds United star after his exit to Brighton, as well as Crysencio Summerville’s move to West Ham.
Those will be big shoes for the pair to fill, especially when Solomon only managed six Tottenham appearances all last season.
He scored five times, largely off the bench, on loan at Fulham the campaign before following a long spell out after a knee injury and will be looking to be more involved under Farke if he completes this move.
Dan James, Mateo Joseph and Brenden Aaronson were among the brighter sparks in a much-needed first win of the season at Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night, to suggest a strong attacking unit can be formed again.
The 49ers should have had contingency plans lined up ready to replace the likes of Summerville, Rutter and Archie Gray as soon as any exit clauses were triggered, rather than lurching into action after the fact and failing in pursuit of targets such as Jonathan Rowe from Norwich [HITC, 20 August].
Three games without a victory to start the campaign was not the way the Whites owners’ second season in charge was supposed to begin following a chaotic summer a year ago.
And with less than a week before the window shuts they still need to source another midfielder and full-back to give Farke what he feels he needs to challenge for promotion.
In other Leeds United news, another new arrival was slammed for what he did in the victory at Hillsborough.
