Jayden Bogle was slammed by Andy Hinchcliffe live on Sky Sports as the Leeds United defender was embarrassed by Anthony Musaba for Sheffield Wednesday.

The Sky Sports pundit reacted live on the broadcaster's match commentary on 23 August in the sixth minute after the new Whites full-back allowed his opposite number to get in behind him.

Bogle then fell over off the pitch as the home winger cut back inside before winning a corner, with Hinchcliffe highly critical of the early defensive work.

He said (8.06pm): "That's really poor from Jayden Bogle. He's ball-watching. Musaba should never be able to run in behind him.

"There's no pressure on the ball so as a full-back don't step up, don't step away from your man. He's caught watching the ball, no idea where Musaba is who just steps towards the ball then steps away. That creates the space.

"Bogle defensively all over the place."

Anthony Musaba a threat to Leeds United down left wing

Brenden Aaronson's 24th-minute opener came at a welcome point to settle Whites nerves after two games running without a goal.

The American latched onto a loose ball in the box after Mateo Joseph was brought down, showing good composure to fire home.

Daniel Farke's side have put themselves under pressure without a win so far this term, amid a struggle to replace departing stars, and going behind early here would have increased that significantly in a campaign that has already been tipped to be more of a struggle than last term [Richard Keys, 20 August].

Bogle has shown flashes of obvious quality since his arrival from Sheffield United but has also been found wanting defensively at times.

He improved after a sloppy start to help keep Musaba at bay as the Whites took a vital one-goal lead into the break after an improved performance at Wednesday.

Farke will be desperate to hold onto the advantage and record a first win of the season and raise the mood after the signing of Largie Ramazani.
