Luciano Becchio tells Daniel Farke what Leeds United must do in transfer market
Leeds United know that the odds are stacked against them next season, as they fight to survive in the Premier League.
With that in mind, the Elland Road club must strengthen key areas in the summer transfer window.
Daniel Farke’s side will have considerable money to spend after it was revealed Leeds will have a warchest of £100million.
Former striker Luciano Becchio has weighed in on exactly where his former club must add quality.

Becchio identifies key area for Leeds United improvement
While Farke led Leeds to the Championship title on goal difference, it could have been so much smoother.
Ilan Meslier literally dropped the Yorkshire outfit heaps of points after a series of errors in the second tier.
He will almost certainly be replaced this summer, with Nick Pope linked with a move to Elland Road.
However, that is not the key area where Leeds must improve, according to Becchio, who spoke to Leeds Live (31 May).
He said: “I don’t know who will stay, but we definitely need a goalscoring striker.
“Leeds needs a 100 per cent scoring striker. This will really strengthen the team, because this year we were creating a lot of chances but not scoring.”
Indeed, Becchio might be right.
Player | Team | Goals |
Joel Piroe | Leeds | 19 |
Borja Sainz | Norwich City | 18 |
Josh Brownhill | Burnley | 18 |
Josh Sargent | Norwich City | 15 |
Wilson Isidor, Josh Windass, Tommy Conway | Sunderland/ Sheffield Wednesday/ Middlesbrough | 13 |
Although Joel Piroe finished the season with the Championship Golden Boot after scoring 19 goals, that is not a particularly high number.
Becchio is better placed than most to provide such advice, given he netted 87 goals during his stint at Elland Road.

Leeds must sign goalscoring striker amid Becchio advice
All three promoted sides will be chasing new strikers as they look to add goals to their ranks.
Despite possessing the highest scorer in the Championship, Becchio has hit the spot with his advice for Farke.
Piroe has shown promise this season, but question marks remain over whether he can replicate that in the top flight.
Leeds have been linked with Newcastle United forward Callum Wilson, who is out of contract this summer.
Wilson failed to score this season, and his career injury record should concern the Elland Road side.
Although Leeds will be desperate to add quality, they must also be sensible as they spend their fortune.
