Lucas Perri latest: Torino stance on 'dream' Leeds United star emerges amid price tag reveal
Lucas Perri remains a player that Torino would like to sign from Leeds United.
The goalkeeping picture at Elland Road has taken a swift turn in recent days, with Karl Darlow now set to join Manchester United.
The Whites were hoping to keep the 35-year-old at Elland Road, and have been dealt a big blow due to his desire to opt for Old Trafford
Daniel Farke placed his trust in the Welsh international, who became his number one keeper towards the end of last season due to Perri's poor performances.
The club will now almost certainly need to sign a new shot-stopper, with Alex Cairns the third-choice goalie, and Perri not wanted in LS11.
Leeds could sell Perri to fund their move for a new goalkeeper, though Torino may find it hard financially to pull off a deal.
Lucas Perri 'out of reach' for Torino
Perri has been linked with a move to Torino this week, as it's said that Leeds could look for a fee in the region of £8.5million
It was initially reported that the Italian side saw the Brazilian keeper as their second-choice target, with Paraguay's Orlando Gill a top target after an impressive World Cup campaign.
Now, it may be clear to see why Torino are putting most of their eggs in the basket of Gill.
According to exclusive information obtained by Torino Granata, a move for Perri comes with considerable costs for the Serie A outfit.
It's said that while Perri is currently "out of reach" for Torino, he remains a "dream" target for them.
Perhaps they could sign him if the Whites lower their asking price.
The 28-year-old is said to be earning over £2.5m in gross salary at Elland Road, and has annual bonuses that can reach in excess of £400,000.
His wage is something that Torino may not be able to afford, especially with the pricetag that Leeds are demanding for the former Lyon star.
However, the 49ers must not get too picky.
Leeds can't let Perri rot at Elland Road like these other stars
Perri poses the risk of being another player that Leeds take too long to cut their losses with and sell.
If Perri is sold, the club will not only need to find a new number one, but a deputy to whoever that may be, with Parma's Zion Suzuki reportedly a target.
Farke does not see the Leeds goalkeeper as capable of being his number-one option right now, but the player himself will want game time.
The Whites may need to lower their initial asking price even further to make sure they get a deal done, as their hesitance with the likes of Joel Piroe, Wilfried Gnonto and Jack Harrison in the past has most likely come back to hurt them financially.
