Luca Thomas lined up for Leeds United loan in new transfer developments
Leeds United academy forward Luca Thomas could be set for a loan move to continue his development, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The newspaper reported on 18 September that having contributed to 13 goals for the under-21s in 2024, Thomas could head out for senior experience in January.
Thomas made appearances in pre-season for the first team, but after seven goals and six assists this calendar year, performing at the highest level could be his best way into the side long-term.
Luca Thomas to leave Leeds United on loan?
Thomas netted just four minutes into the under-21s’ 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic on 13 September, and his continued form for the academy will give Farke something to think about.
That’s no guarantee that Thomas can make a seamless transition into first-team life at Elland Road, but at 20, the striker will want a taste of senior football sooner rather than later.

Heading out to a club in the lower reaches of the EFL would certainly give Thomas the chance to make his mark, performing consistently against defenders well beyond his years and experience.
Mateo Joseph’s patience in the academy setup at Thorp Arch has seen him rewarded with a starting berth so far this season, but he has proven the exception rather than the rule so far.
With the likes of Harry Gray also waiting to make an impact in the youth teams, Thomas making a move out on loan could be the best way to show Farke what he’s got to offer.
