Liverpool make Ben Doak transfer decision after £25m Leeds United development

Liverpool have slapped a £30million price on Ben Doak after seeing Leeds United sell Cyrsencio Summerville to West Ham for £25m in the summer, according to The Independent.

The newspaper reported via their website on 3 January that Doak is attracting interest from clubs in the Premier League and Europe after impressing on loan at Middlesbrough, with Crystal Palace already having a £15m bid rejected.

Arne Slot’s side are “conscious” of the Whites bagging £25m for Summerville and Burnley selling Wilson Odobert to Tottenham for the same price, and therefore, believe Doak is worth way more than what the Eagles offered.

Leeds United to benefit from Ben Doak transfer at Liverpool

Liverpool sent Doak out on a season-long loan to Middlesbrough to help him get playing time and things have gone according to plan so far, with the Scot bagging two goals and five assists in 20 Championship appearances.

The Reds would reportedly be happy to see the 19-year-old remain with Michael Carrick’s side if none of his new suitors meet their £30m asking price.

Leeds United, for their part, would be delighted if a transfer came to fruition as it would surely weaken one of their promotion rivals.

Daniel Farke’s side are currently placed atop the table and boast a 12-point lead over Boro, but with 21 games still left to play, one can never be sure.

Therefore, Leeds will be keen to see how the transfer saga progresses over the next few days.

They would perhaps have been in the mix to sign the teenager had they been in the Premier League.
