Leeds United offer Ben Doak lucrative terms, decides to sign for Liverpool - The Athletic
Liverpool have beaten Leeds United to the signing of Celtic wonderkid Ben Doak, according to The Athletic.
It has been reported that the Reds will pay £600,000 compensation with the deal now done and the 16-year-old set for Anfield.
The Whites were said to have offered more lucrative terms than their Premier League rivals, but couldn’t win the race.
It looked as though Doak was never moving to Elland Road.
The Athletic reported that the Scotland youth international had his heart set on the move to Liverpool, and you cannot battle that.
Doak has been in sensational form and made his senior debut at Celtic this season, even playing in an Old Firm game with Rangers.

The winger also smashed home a hat-trick for Scotland under-17s against Georgia this week and will arrive in England in great form.
One negative of completing this deal is that Doak is not eligible to play at academy level until next season.
No chance.
We could live to regret this one, but it looks as though it was never going to happen, unfortunately.
Doak looks like one of the best young players in the United Kingdom in his age group, and that is why the likes of Liverpool were so interested.
Leeds are never far away from young players such as this with Victor Orta huge on bringing in youngsters and making them into diamonds.
Leo Hjelde was one who the Whites did manage to bring to Elland Road from Celtic, and he has already pushed into the first-team set-up.
It’s a real shame that Doak didn’t use that as motivation, with little chance of him breaking through at Liverpool in years to come.
