Alvyn Sanches is wanted by Leeds United and a host of other clubs after FC Lausanne-Sport lowered their asking price for him, according to the Daily Express.

The newspaper reported on 21 August that the Whites are one of seven sides across Europe keen on the Swiss midfielder, who is available for £3million after Lausanne-Sport reduced their initial valuation by 25 per cent from £4million.

The 21-year-old is reportedly leaning closest to a move to Celtic this summer, although the Peacocks remain interested despite Lausanne-Sport having no need to sell the central midfielder.

Daniel Farke is in need of a new number 10 following Georginio Rutter's departure to Brighton, with Gent, Anderlecht, Burnley, Feyenoord and Udinese all having a "concrete interest" in Sanches this summer.

Leeds United must show initiative with Alvyn Sanches transfer

Rutter's exit to Brighton following the triggering of his relegation release clause not only leaves a massive and unique hole to fill in attacking midfield at Elland Road, but also £40million in the club's bank account.

Add that to the similar fee collected for Archie Gray's switch to Tottenham, and the £25m which took Crysencio Summerville to West Ham, and the Whites have ample cash to spend on replacements.

However, Jayden Bogle's arrival from Sheffield United on 20 July remains United's most recent addition, with the following month seeing Farke's two most talismanic figures head elsewhere for sizeable fees.

Despite being a relative unknown having only ever plied his trade in Switzerland, the number of clubs interested in Sanches suggests completing a transfer for him would be a significant coup for the Whites.

Beating Celtic to Sanches' signature would still leave the 49ers Enterprises with plenty of work to do, but may represent the best possible start to the end of a window which looks to have spiralled out of control.
