Leeds United are set to pay Sheffield United close to their £7million asking price for right-back Jayden Bogle once add-ons are taken into account, according to Alan Nixon.

The journalist posted on his Patreon page (20 July) that full total of the Whites' deal for Bogle will be closer to the £7m fee the Blades were demanding, once add-ons have been accounted for, having come back to the table with an increased offer.

Daniel Farke's side finally achieved a breakthrough in agreeing a transfer for the 24-year-old, with Bogle on his way to Thorp Arch for a medical with John Percy suggesting a £5m fee had been agreed.

However, Nixon's report suggests that there are extras included in the total price that will get Leeds closer to the Blades' demands.

While the Whites won't have wanted to pay as much as they reportedly are doing for Bogle, signing an attacking right-back with Championship promotion experience is a shrewd addition to Farke's squad.

Playing the vast majority of last season minus a natural right-back, with midfielder Archie Gray the most regular starter in this position, United will now have a player with significant nous on the flanks in Bogle.

Archie Gray was Leeds United's first choice right-back for much of last season.

The £40m sale of Gray certainly didn't help in the Peacocks' efforts to barter Sheffield United down to a £3m figure, with Joe Donnohue stating that clubs were aware they had money in the bank [Inside Elland Road podcast, 18 July].

However, with United finally getting their man, that initial £5m fee could prove to be a bargain if Bogle's presence on the right-hand side can help fire the club back to the Premier League.

The up-to-£2m in add-ons to Sheffield United are yet to be disclosed, but if they're promotion-dependent, Leeds certainly won't mind stumping up the money if it means a top-flight return.
