Leeds United want to sign Josh Tymon as Sinisterra medical completed on Wednesday night
Leeds United are in the hunt to sign Stoke City left-back Josh Tymon as Victor Orta continues his summer transfer blitz at Elland Road, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported via their print edition on Thursday (7 July, page 79) that after Tyler Adams officially joined from RB Leipzig on Wednesday (6 July), Feyenoord winger Luis Sinisterra also underwent a medical.
It is understood that £26million has also been offered to Club Brugge for Charles De Ketelaere by Leeds, who have already signed Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca and Darko Gyabi since last season ended.
What can Tymon offer?
It’s been a busy month or so at Elland Road.
Director of football Victor Orta has completed five deals so far and it doesn’t look as though he wants to slow down his summer revolution in West Yorkshire.
Jesse Marsch’s squad had serious flaws last season and that’s why the Whites were almost relegated from the Premier League.
One of the major issues Marsch inherited was the left-back situation because Junior Firpo had a miserable debut season at Elland Road in which he suffered with injuries, suspension and terrible form.
Stuart Dallas was the back-up left-back when Firpo was missing but the Northern Ireland star is out until the end of the year at least with a fractured femur.
Tymon is young, English, Yorkshire-born and will at the very least be a good back-up option for Firpo.
However, we feel as though he could be a starter over the former Barcelona full-back having impressed for Stoke in the Championship last season.
Let’s see how this one develops but we’d all like to see a new left-back on board this summer.
In other Leeds United news, this player has told the club he’s refusing to participate in pre-season preparations.
